The Poem Unwritten
I want to write that poem for you,
That poem of such magnificence
It would be called a masterpiece.
I want to write that poem that says
What poets have tried to convey
Since the beginning of time
On stone aged walls.
I want to write that poem for you
That would turn you inside out
With my perfect scheme
And metaphorical genius.
A poem that would bring
Eliot and Frost, Dickinson, Walt,
And even sonneteer Will
Down to their knees.
I want to write that poem
That pronounces all my feelings
That are never spoken
When I am with you.
But we are that poem
That cannot be written,
Cannot be held
In my fountain of pens.
So this is my poem
Of that poem
That cannot be written.

Happy Day.

I hope you are having a happy Valentine’s Day, too. I am sorry I missed you at NCPA last Sat. It was a choice between that and a bus tour to the Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco to see “The Royal Treasures of the Louve”.I hope all is well.
Meeting vs Louve leaves you with no choice at all. Had a stimulating morning with my Memoir Miners today…an editing group on memoir writing. Very thought-provoking and inspiring to edit by honoring each writer’s voice and writing style. Hope to see you at our next CWC meeting?
