The saga continues. Apple did something to my iPhone so I could no longer text messages. I took my iPhone to Verizon on Howe St here in Sacramento. The place was empty. I was told no one can see me without an appointment. But, but, I said, I just want someone to see why I can’t text on my iPhone as of yesterday. The young girl said, “You can go on-line and resolve most of your problems. ” What? Why do you think I go into these shops…to get human help!!! I walked out.
I then went to Best Buy. Should have gone there first. Chuck and another technician resolved my problem. They check my Verizon program and gave me information I didn’t know. Yes, I had bought it at Verizon. Will return to Chuck to get my iPad.
Verizon must be using our Apple Store at Arden Mall as their role model.
My day wasn’t over yet. I drove to my writing support group for caregivers, had an intense session with their beautiful poems, and walked out to a car with a dead battery. Thank you AAA for coming to my aid in less than half an hour. I came home and took a nap. I hate the Corporate World. They don’t like me either. Wait, do you think they killed my battery for bad-mouthing them?
Sorry to hear about your iPhone woes, Frances. I’ve had positive experiences so far at our local Apple store, and though I have a contract with Verizon, I’ve never actually gone into any of their stores for technical help.
What you say about “corporate” and lack of personal service is true, though, and very disheartening. There is a lot of pass the buck and impatience, and I’m usually surprised whenever (on those rare occasions), I actually get someone to help me and they’re pleasant and not condescending about it. What is happening to humanity?
Too much technology and looking at screens all day have made people forget how to socialize and interact face to face. Are we all becoming impersonal machines? There is absolutely no reason why someone at Verizon couldn’t have quickly checked your phone right there on the spot, especially since the store wasn’t busy. Grrrrr. Where was the manager?
I have just begun to fight.:)
After I get my iPhone from Best Buy, will take copies of my posts and comments in to each of the managers at
Apple, Verizon and Best Buy.
Good for you!!
